Whew! I’m a day late, but we launched the Kickstarter. The site is live and we have already collected almost $500 in donations. We’re off to a great start, but there is still plenty of work to be done. Hector and I will be meeting with the Surfari club on Thursday as well as with Jorge Estela from the Pirata Surf Club. We hope to gain their support for our project.
Saturday Hector, Tito, and I are attending the Orlando Surf Expo to spread awareness of our campaign. Armed with flyers and media packets, we hope to also collect donations right there on the spot.
I’ll post an update from Thursday’s meeting with the Surfari Club and Estela. For now, check out our Kickstarter: http://kck.st/1lEXz4f
Share with your friends and if you want to join us on this journey, consider a donation!
Last night Hector finished the first draft of the Kickstarter promotional video. I think it looks amazing, but I am biased of course! We still need to soften the edges and make some spots flow more smoothly, but for the most part it is finished. I can’t wait to launch this campaign and share the production team’s hard work.
Who exactly makes up the production team? I’ll answer that question in tomorrow’s post!
Yesterday we wrapped up filming for the Kickstarter promotional video. We traveled to the New Smyrna Beach Skatepark as well as DeLand to film skateboarding and a mini interview session with The Birdman. A random picture from our day is below.
Hector will finish editing the video this week and we should have the Kickstarter ready to go by Sunday, August 24th. The final week will be spent spreading the word about our project and then we plan to launch the Kickstarter campaign on September 1st. Stay tuned for more updates!!
